Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'application-only' mean?
We review every application before offering a spot. You'll fill out a short form and attach some of your child's past English work. We look at this to understand where they're at and whether the program is a good fit. If it is, we'll be in touch to discuss next steps.
How long is the waitlist?
Our current waitlist runs until approximately September 2026. We recommend applying early. The sooner you're on the list, the sooner a spot opens up.
What year levels do you teach?
We work with students from Year 6 through to Year 12. The earlier they start, the stronger their foundation. Many of our highest-scoring students joined in Years 7 or 8.
How is this different from school English?
Most schools move from text to text without building a real writing framework. We focus on the core skills that actually produce high scores: structured argumentation, evidence integration, and clear analytical writing. Students get detailed written feedback every week, not once a term.
Where and when are classes?
Weekly at our Glen Waverley campus (Level 1, 24-26 Kingsway) or live on Google Meet. Every class is recorded. Your choice each week.
How We Teach English Differently
Your child won't sit through another year of vague feedback and once-a-term essays. This is structured, deliberate, and designed to produce results.
Structured Writing Framework
We replace vague advice like "analyse more" with a concrete framework for building arguments, integrating evidence, and structuring paragraphs. No TEEL. Real essay architecture.
Weekly Feedback Loop
Write, submit, get detailed written feedback, rewrite. Every single week. Not once a term. Writing improves through repetition and clear correction, not hope.
Text Mastery and Exam Prep
Deep understanding of every text. Practice under timed SAC conditions. Strategic exam preparation so there are no surprises on the day.
Results that speak for themselves.
English Doesn't Reward Guesswork. It Rewards Clarity.
Your child is putting in the hours. Reading the texts. Writing essays. But the feedback they get is vague, late, or both. And without clear feedback, they keep making the same mistakes.
- They get told to "analyse more" but nobody shows them what real analysis looks like
- They write an essay, get a score back weeks later, and have no idea what to fix
- They've been told to "use TEEL" since Year 7 but have never seen what a 45+ essay actually looks like
- School moves from text to text, but they never feel like they've mastered anything
- Their teacher says they're "fine" but fine isn't getting them a 40+
Year 11: Get Ahead Early
The students who score highest aren't the ones who cram hardest in Year 12. They're the ones who built the foundations in Year 11. Start now and walk into Unit 3-4 with a real advantage.
Year 12: Pushing for 40+
Text Response, Argument Analysis, Framework of Ideas. Detailed weekly feedback from a tutor who has produced 14 perfect English scores. No guesswork. No vague advice.
Already Scoring Well? Go Higher.
The difference between a 40 and a 45+ isn't writing more. It's writing with precision. We sharpen your argument structure, evidence integration, and exam technique to get you from good to top of the state.

Not Your Average Tutoring Centre
Detailed Written Feedback Every Week
Not a score and a comment. Specific, line-by-line feedback on every essay. Returned fast so your child can actually learn from it.
Same Tutor, Every Week
We don't cycle between tutors. Bob teaches every class and reviews every student's progress. We know every student by name, not by seat number.
