How much does it cost?
$100/week. That includes a 2-hour weekly teaching session, a 1.5-hour mock exam in full exam conditions, detailed performance reports, all materials, and class recordings. No sign-up fees, no hidden costs.
Where and when are classes?
Weekly at our Glen Waverley campus (Level 1, 24-26 Kingsway) or live on Zoom. Every class is recorded. Your choice each week.
What happens after I submit this form?
We'll be in touch within 2 hours. We'll discuss your child's current level, answer any questions, and if it's a good fit, book them into a diagnostic test and trial class.
Can my child start mid-year?
Yes. We'll run a diagnostic test to assess where they stand, then slot them in. Many of our successful students joined partway through the year and achieved entry through focused, intensive preparation.
Who teaches the classes?
Samuel Koh is our Head of Selective Entry. Sam achieved a 99.90 ATAR, earned entry to Melbourne High School, and received a 75% academic scholarship to Haileybury. He's been through the exact journey your child is about to take.
Brilliant Kids Still Miss Out. Here's Why.
Thousands of students sit the selective entry exam every year. Being "smart" isn't enough. The students who get offers are the ones who've been strategically prepared for exactly what the exam tests.
- The exam tests content that schools don't teach — advanced reasoning, verbal analysis, writing under pressure
- Generic tutoring centres teach to the test without building real skills
- Parents don't know where their child actually stands — or what gaps to fix
- Without strategy, even strong students waste marks on time management and question technique
- The pressure is real — and most students have never practised under exam conditions
Targeting Melbourne High or MacRob?
These are Victoria's most competitive selective schools. Entry requires more than raw ability — it requires strategic exam preparation, advanced reasoning skills, and the confidence to perform under pressure.
Year 5–7 and want a head start?
The earlier you start, the more time to build genuine skills — not just test tricks. We identify gaps and build the reasoning foundation that makes exam day feel like familiar territory.
Need to know where your child stands?
Our diagnostic test gives you a clear, honest assessment. You'll know exactly what your child knows, what they're missing, and the specific plan to close the gap.
Three Phases. One Goal: Your Child's Offer.
We diagnose where your child stands, build the skills the exam actually tests, then pressure-test everything under real conditions.
01 Diagnostic Testing
Identify exactly where your child stands. Strengths, gaps, and a clear plan — before any teaching begins.
02 Targeted Skill Building
Weekly sessions covering verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, reading comprehension, and writing — the skills the exam actually tests.
03 Exam Simulation
Full mock exams under real conditions, followed by detailed post-test reviews. Students learn to perform, not just prepare.
Why Families Choose Artin for Selective Entry
Meet Your Head Tutor: Samuel Koh
Head of Selective Entry
99.90 ATAR · Raw 50 English · Ex-Melbourne High · Ex-Haileybury (75% Scholarship)
Sam isn't just a tutor who knows the content. He lived the journey your child is about to take. He gained entry to Melbourne High School, earned a 75% academic scholarship to Haileybury, and went on to score a 99.90 ATAR.
He understands the exam from the inside. He knows what examiners look for. And he knows what separates the students who get offers from those who don't.
- Selective school entry + top scholarship — Sam didn't just pass the exam. He excelled at it — earning both entry to Melbourne High and a 75% academic scholarship to Haileybury.
- Raw 50 in English — Critical for the writing and verbal reasoning components of the selective entry exam.
- Item-level analysis after every mock — Sam provides detailed breakdowns so parents know exactly where their child stands and what to work on next.
- Writing feedback that transforms — Line-by-line rewrites, detailed annotations, and model responses. We don't just mark writing — we rebuild it.
Your child will be taught by someone who has been through this exact process and knows what it takes to succeed.

Not Your Average Tutoring Centre
We Teach to Understand, Not Memorise
Students preview content before school covers it — but we don't teach to memorise and repeat. We teach so your child genuinely understands the concepts.
Weekly Testing & Feedback
We test and give feedback every single week. Other centres run an end-of-term test to satisfy parents. We run ours to help students desensitise to exams and actually improve.
Same Tutor, Every Week
We don't cycle between tutors. Your child works with the same expert every session. We know every student by name, not by seat number.
Parents Stay in the Loop
Most tutoring centres give parents minimal feedback — or none at all. We provide regular progress updates so you always know where your child stands and what they're working on.
Everything Included, No Upsells
All materials, class recordings, and direct tutor access outside of class. Many centres charge extra fees or upsell you — we give you everything you need without the fluff.
Boutique, Not a Factory
We're not a commercialised, large-scale tutoring chain. We're a small, focused team that prioritises quality over volume. That's how we maintain the results we do.
Try a Class. If It's Not Right, You Pay Nothing.
We don't lock you into contracts. We don't ask for credit card details upfront. Bring your child to a diagnostic test and trial class, and decide if it's the right fit.
If it's not? No charge. No awkward follow-up calls. No obligation whatsoever.
Why do we offer this? Because we know what happens when families see our system in action. They stay. Our track record of 14x 99.95 ATAR students didn't happen by accident.

More About the Program
What year level should my child start preparing?
Most students begin in Year 6 or 7, targeting Year 9 entry. Starting in Year 5 gives extra time to build foundations. Starting in Year 8 is still worthwhile — many of our successful students joined later and achieved entry through intensive, focused preparation.
How is this different from other selective entry programs?
Most programs run 30+ students per class with rotating tutors and generic materials. We run small groups taught by a tutor who personally earned selective entry AND a 75% scholarship. Every student gets diagnostic testing, weekly mock exams in full conditions, and detailed parent reports.
What does the diagnostic test cover?
The diagnostic assesses your child across all four exam components: verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, reading comprehension, and writing. You'll get a clear report showing strengths, gaps, and a specific plan to close them.
Will this help with private school scholarship exams too?
Yes. The skills we build — advanced reasoning, writing under pressure, and exam technique — are directly transferable to scholarship exams at schools like Haileybury, Scotch, and others. Sam himself earned a 75% scholarship using these exact skills.
