From Year 7 at Artin to a 99.95 ATAR
Christopher Lim joined Artin in Year 7. By the time he finished VCE, he had a raw 50 in Maths Methods, a Premier's Award, and a 99.95 ATAR (Scotch College).
The foundations he built early made all the difference. That's exactly what this program is designed to do.

— Chanelle Cai, Former StudentFrequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
Year 7-8: $60/week (1.5 hours). Year 9-10: $70/week (1 hour 45 minutes). All testing, exam materials, class recordings, and outside-of-class tutor support included at no extra cost.
Where and when are classes?
Weekly at our Glen Waverley campus (Level 1, 24-26 Kingsway) or live on Zoom. Every class is recorded. Your choice each week.
What happens after I submit this form?
We'll be in touch within 2 hours. We'll discuss your child's current level, answer any questions, and if it's a good fit, book them into a free trial class.
Can my child join mid-year?
Yes. We'll assess where they're at and slot them in. Many of our best students joined partway through the year and caught up quickly with the system.
Who teaches the classes?
Will Zheng (99.85 ATAR, Scotch College 2024) leads our Year 7-10 program. The curriculum was designed by Ming Lian (raw 50 Specialist Maths, contributor to Cambridge University Press).
Three Phases. One Goal: VCE-Ready Maths.
We teach ahead of school, test regularly, and fix gaps fast — so your child builds the foundations that make VCE feel like a natural progression, not a shock.
01 Weekly Classes
Weekly sessions ahead of school (Year 7–8: 1.5 hrs, Year 9–10: 1 hr 45 min). Your child previews content before it's taught in class.
02 Regular Testing
Tests that track progress and identify gaps. We find weaknesses before they compound — not after a school test goes badly.
Feedback + VCE Readiness
Detailed feedback on every test. We progressively introduce VCE-level thinking so your child is ready when Year 11 arrives.
Results that speak for themselves.
Your Child Has the Ability. The System Is the Problem.
- Your child gets the homework done fast, but you're not convinced they truly understand it
- School feels easy enough now — which is exactly why you're worried about what happens later
- They can memorise a method for Friday's test, then forget it the week after
- You know they're smart, but you can also see they're getting away with doing the minimum
- You're already thinking about Year 11 and 12 maths and wondering whether their current habits will hold up
- You've tried a tutor before — just homework help, no plan, no real progress, same problem next week
This is for you if…
- Your child is capable, but school isn't giving them enough structure to build real mastery
- You want them challenged early, not shocked later when maths gets serious
- You're looking for a system that teaches ahead, tests regularly, and gives precise feedback
- You're planning for long-term senior maths performance, not short-term homework help
They're coasting and you can see what's coming
Right now, school still feels manageable. That's the risk. Students who coast in Year 7–10 often hit a wall later — not because they lack ability, but because they never built the habits or depth to handle harder maths.
They're doing well but school isn't challenging them
Good marks don't always mean real progress. Sometimes it just means the bar is too low. If your child is capable, they need a program that stretches them before school finally does.
You're already thinking about Year 11 and 12
Most parents wait until the pressure arrives. The smart ones plan earlier. If senior maths is on your radar, the best time to build strong foundations is now, while there's still time to do it properly.
They had a bad tutor and you want a real system
You've already seen what "just helping with homework" looks like. It keeps things moving week to week, but it doesn't build mastery. Artin is structured coaching: learn ahead, test often, fix mistakes fast.
School Does What It Can. We Give Capable Students the System School Can't.

Meet Your Tutor: Will Zheng
Year 7–10 Mathematics Tutor
99.85 ATAR · 45 Maths Methods · 44 Specialist Maths · Scotch College 2024 · BSc Mathematics, University of Melbourne
Will was an Artin student himself. He didn't make the extension class in Year 7 — but through the Artin system, he built the habits and depth that carried him to a 99.85 ATAR at Scotch College. He knows what Year 7–10 students need because he was one of them.
- 99.85 ATAR — Top 0.15% in Victoria. 45 in Maths Methods (top 1.6%), 44 in Specialist Maths (top 2.2%).
- BSc Mathematics, University of Melbourne — Currently studying the subject he teaches.
- Former Artin student — Trained under the same system he now delivers. Knows what works because he lived it.
- Curriculum by Ming Lian — The program is designed by Ming (raw 50 Specialist Maths, contributor to Cambridge University Press). Will delivers it with energy and relatability.
Your child gets a tutor who was them — backed by a curriculum built by one of the best maths minds in the state.

Not Your Average Tutoring Centre
We Teach to Understand, Not Memorise
Students preview content before school covers it — but we don't teach to memorise and repeat. We teach so your child genuinely understands the concepts.
Weekly Testing & Feedback
We test and give feedback every single week. Other centres run an end-of-term test to satisfy parents. We run ours to help students desensitise to exams and actually improve.
Same Tutor, Every Week
We don't cycle between tutors. Your child works with the same expert every session. We know every student by name, not by seat number.
Parents Stay in the Loop
Most tutoring centres give parents minimal feedback — or none at all. We provide regular progress updates so you always know where your child stands and what they're working on.
Everything Included, No Upsells
All materials, class recordings, and direct tutor access outside of class. Many centres charge extra fees or upsell you — we give you everything you need without the fluff.
Boutique, Not a Factory
We're not a commercialised, large-scale tutoring chain. We're a small, focused team that prioritises quality over volume. That's how we maintain the results we do.

More About the Program
Will this prepare my child for senior maths?
That's the whole point. Our Year 7-10 program is designed with Year 11 and 12 in mind — we progressively build the mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and habits that give students a genuine advantage when senior maths arrives.
My child is already getting good marks. Why would they need this?
Good marks don't always mean strong foundations. We help capable students build a better system, stay ahead of school, and avoid the usual drop-off in Years 9 and 10.
How is this different from other tutoring centres?
We teach ahead of school, test weekly, and build real problem-solving habits. Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up, or get ahead — the system works because it gives them structure and depth that school can't.
Will my child be bored if they're already ahead?
No. We teach ahead of school, so there's always new content to learn. Students who are already strong get stretched further, while those building confidence get the structure to catch up quickly.
What actually happens in a typical session?
Each session teaches new content ahead of school, works through key questions, and builds exam-style thinking. Students also do weekly tests, get recordings, all materials, and direct tutor access between classes.
Still have questions? Fill out the form above or call 0490 004 231.
