UCAT Prep Is Broken — Here’s Why.
They’re smart. They work hard. But without structure, even capable students miss out.
The Cost of No Plan
Most students:
- Do a few questions here and there
- Watch a video or two
- Maybe even buy a question bank
But without a clear system, feedback, or accountability — skills develop slowly, if at all.
They never reach their full potential, not because they couldn’t — but because they weren’t set up to.
For a test this important, you can’t afford to leave preparation to chance.
But that’s exactly what happens to most students:
They go into one of the highest-stakes exams of their lives…
Without a plan. Without a coach. Without knowing how much better they could have done.
That’s the real danger.
Not underperformance — but underpreparation.
— so...
What Should Your UCAT Preparation Look Like?
Think about elite athletes.
They don’t train alone with YouTube videos.
They don’t “wing it” with a few casual sessions here and there.
They have coaches.
Coaches give them structured training programs, track their progress, push them when it matters, and pull them back before injury.
That’s what transforms potential into performance.
And UCAT is no different.
It’s not a knowledge test — it’s a performance exam. To perform, you don’t need more theory. You need training.
🌟 The Training-First Solution

A Personal Message from Patrick
This is why we do what we do.
Much of my UCAT journey felt like climbing a mountain - without hiking shoes, without a trekking pole, and with no idea if I was even on the right path to the top. It was daunting, to say the least. It’s a two-hour exam, sat right in the middle of Year 12, that - to a large extent - determines whether you can pursue your dream of studying medicine. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? If this is something that scares you, don’t worry - it scared me too.
The whole UCAT process can feel like stepping into the unknown. What even is the UCAT? How do I start preparing? How much time do I need to put in? How competitive is it? These were questions on my mind the moment I learnt about what the test was, and to be honest, they never really left. I remember the stress of trying to figure out what “enough” preparation looked like, as well as the fear that maybe I wasn’t doing things the “right” way.
So, I spent months trying to work things out on my own - testing different resources, building habits, and forcing myself to stay consistent even when progress felt slow. Eventually, by the end of my preparation, everything started to click. I had that light bulb moment where I thought - imagine the advantage I’d have had if I’d figured all this out from the start.
That’s exactly the advantage I want my students to have. I don’t want them to waste time worrying about how or when to prepare — I want them to have a clear system, a roadmap they can trust, so all they need to do is put their head down and focus on climbing their own mountain.
That’s the advantage I wish I had at the start - and it’s why I do what I do now.

Frequently asked questions
What is the course structure? (How is the course taught?)
At its core, our UCAT program revolves around doing — doing questions, getting feedback, refining strategies, and improving your processes.
Here’s how it works:
We don’t believe in spending hours each week just listening. Instead, our course is designed for skill development - to help you progressively optimize your preparation through a structured, practical approach. We start by building a solid theoretical foundation, then transition into consistent, assessed practice to ensure real performance growth.
Here’s how it works:
Phase 1: Theory Block (Foundations) – The first half of the program focuses on understanding the test format, question types, and core strategies for each section.
Phase 2: Skill Development – Once the foundations are set, we focus on doing — subtest mocks, timed question sets, feedback, and score tracking.
Phase 3: Mock Training & Exam Readiness – Finally, you’ll complete mock exams, simulate real test conditions, and refine timing and mindset to peak on UCAT day.
When should I start preparing for the UCAT?
For students heading into Year 12, the start of the year (January) is the perfect time to get started and get ahead.
You want to make sure you feel comfortable with the UCAT and are confident in your preparation path before heading into Year 12, when school stress and workload start to ramp up.
That’s exactly why we run our Summer Holiday Intensive Headstart at the beginning of the course — to help you build momentum early, lock in strong foundations, and stay ahead before the busy year begins.

What is the Summer Holiday Intensive Headstart?
In the January Summer Holidays, we run two classes per week instead of the usual one.
Students get kick-started with the theory block, but also experience extra practice sessions and mock simulations to understand what the UCAT is really like.
This ensures that by the end of the holidays, you already feel comfortable with the UCAT and are confident in your preparation path - before heading into Year 12 and dealing with increased school pressures and a heavier workload.

Are classes held online or in-person?
We offer two dedicated streams to suit every student:
Online Stream – Learn live via Zoom with interactive coaching and digital resources.
In-Person Stream – Attend classes at our Glen Waverley Campus, where you’ll get the full immersive experience with your coaches and peers.
Both streams follow the exact same curriculum, materials, and level of support — so you can choose whichever format fits your schedule best.
When are the classes held, and how long are they?
Please check the enrolment form for the latest timetable.
Teaching sessions run for 2 hours.
Teaching sessions run for 2 hours.
What happens if my child misses a class?
No stress — all lesson recordings, class notes, and homework materials are uploaded weekly to the Artin LMS, so students can review or catch up anytime.
Can we attend online?
Yes! While we recommend attending in person for best results, our classes are fully hybrid — students can join live via Zoom if needed.
Do you offer one-on-one tutoring?
We focus on small-group classes only, but students are welcome to message or check in with their tutor outside class hours for additional support on a reasonable basis.
